With a master's degree in marine sciences and thirty years' experience in publishing and communications, I offer authors the unique combination of deep editorial knowledge and enthusiasm for a wide range of subjects.
I have copyedited more than 250 books, including titles in science, history, business, and education, and numerous memoirs and novels (see a sample of my projects). On dozens of medical and environmental reports, I have also "done my magic," as one client calls it (see some endorsements). I take special pride in helping investigators present their findings with clarity and within regulatory guidelines. I have also written catalog copy for a national scientific supply company, describing various safety instruments and promoting the firm's new chemical-reordering system.
Away from work, I enjoy cooking, traveling, languages, and recreational soccer. I hold my team's record for the longest goal-free streak in a year.
ABOUT THE NAME
The name Steel Pencil Editorial echoes my hometown of Pittsburgh, the Steel City. Like steel girders, strong writing and editing lay the foundation of great communication.
